To ensure a pleasant and secure stay for all our guests, please review the following disclaimer carefully. By signing this document, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below.
1. LIABILITY DISCLAIMER
1.1 The owners, management, and staff of Onverwacht shall not be held liable for:
- Any personal injuries, illnesses, or accidents sustained by guests while on the premises, regardless of the cause.
- Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings, including vehicles, whether parked on or off the premises.
1.2 Guests are responsible for securing their personal belongings. A safe is provided for
your convenience where applicable.
2. USE OF FACILITIES
2.1 Guests use all facilities and equipment (e.g., swimming pool, braai area, gardens)
entirely at their own risk.
2.2 Pool: If you use the pool, please wear swimwear. No underwear (instead of
swimwear) or skinny dipping will be allowed. Keep other guests and the host’s family
members in mind.
2.3 The bathroom towels are not to be used at the pool. If you forgot a swimming towel,
please arrange for a swimming towel with the manager/owner.
2.4 An adult must supervise children at all times. Onverwacht is not responsible
for injuries sustained anywhere on the premises due to lack of supervision.
2.5 Allergies: The rusks provided may contain traces of nuts.
2.6 Units: No extra guest(s) may be invited along. The garden flatlet sleeps 4 people and
the luxury garden suite 2. These are the maximum number of guests allowed (a
child/minor counts as a guest). Payment is per unit (not per person). Should an extra
guest sleep over, additional charges will be imposed.
General:
2.7 Please respect the environment and be mindful of other vehicles and traffic.
2.8 Please put only toilet paper in the toilets. Any other waste items are to be put in the
bins provided in your unit.
2.9 Quiet hours: Please observe silence after 22:00 as we are in a residential area.
3. PROPERTY DAMAGE
3.1 Guests will be held liable for any intentional or negligent damage caused to the
property, furniture, or equipment during their stay.
3.2 The management reserves the right to charge guests for the cost of repairs or
replacement.
4. SAFETY & SECURITY
4.1 While Onverwacht takes reasonable precautions to ensure guest safety, we can’t
guarantee complete protection from criminal acts. Guests are encouraged to lock doors
and secure valuables.
4.2 The parking area (fenced-off) is used at the guest’s own risk.
4.3 Although Hillsboro is a low-crime area, please take the necessary precautions.

5. FORCE MAJEURE
5.1 Onverwacht shall not be held responsible for interruptions of services (e.g.
electricity, water supply, internet) due to events beyond our control, including but not
limited to load-shedding, adverse weather conditions, or technical issues.
6. COMPLIANCE WITH HOUSE RULES
6.1 Guests are required to adhere to all house rules provided during check-in. Failure to
comply may result in terminating your stay without a refund.
6.2 Noise levels should be kept to a minimum, especially during quiet hours, as outlined.
6.3 Books are provided to read during your stay. Please handle the books with care.
6.4 Smoking policy: NO smoking of any device or cigarette in the building. Ashtrays are
provided outside for your convenience.
6.5 Pet policy: NO pets are allowed.
7. AGREEMENT
You hereby agree that:
- You have read, understood, and agreed to the terms above.
- You accept full responsibility for your safety and the safety of your belongings while staying at Onverwacht.
This disclaimer indemnifies Onverwacht from potential liabilities while ensuring guests are informed about their responsibilities.
